Our methodologies reflect the undeniable fact that the type and scale of change the world needs requires an entirely new approach. Our work refuses to further fragment the ecological, social, cultural, or economic systems we work in. Success, in our experience, mandates an interdisciplinary approach that is able to restore the health and resiliency of our landscapes, seascapes, and ‘human-scapes.’ To this end, we apply the principles of ecology, ethnography, innovation, design, and system-thinking to the myriad challenges destroying the natural world—and us with it. And we do this work in close partnership with the people and communities who call it home.
TERRAMAR’s embodies two+ decades of field experience meeting the social change challenge head-on. This experience provide us with a depth and breadth of experience across a distinct set of social change competencies and deep experience in a equally large range of issue areas: from terrestrial and marine conservation to energy policy and climate justice and indigenous rights and community-driven conservation.
